Which format should I use in an automation?
All of them work. The mapping form (hours: / minutes: / seconds:) is the most readable and the only one that takes templates.
Why does my for: not work?
A bare number in for: is read as seconds, but quoting matters: for: "00:05" is five minutes, for: 5 is five seconds.
