The time_pattern syntax you look up every time

Pick what you want to happen and copy the trigger. No slashes in the wrong place.

When it will fire

The slash is the whole thing

You write It means
minutes: "/5"Every five minutes — :00, :05, :10…
minutes: 5Once an hour, at five past
minutes: "*"Every minute
nothing at allEvery value of that unit. Leave everything unset and it fires constantly — always pin what you do not want to vary

Questions people ask

What does /5 mean?

Every five, not "at five". minutes: "/5" fires at :00, :05, :10 and so on. Without the slash, minutes: 5 fires only once an hour, at five past.

Why does mine fire every second?

Because you set minutes and left seconds unset, and an unset field means "every". Pin seconds to 0 and it behaves.

Is this the same as cron?

Similar idea, different syntax, and time_pattern only goes down to seconds — there is no day-of-week field. For that, add a condition.
